The first thing I learned: Watch out for fast random cars driving on the sidewalk. Our unsafe taxi drive from the airport was full of screeching halts and sudden bolts of speed all the way to our apartment. Second thing I learned: if my personal space is about one foot everybody else's is 3 inches at most. The Florentines expressed this when they built Campanile with the smallest space to climb 414 stairs. Furthermore people were trying to go up and down them at the same time consequently we were so close that we were touching. But the view was worth it- you could see hundreds of red thatched roofs and all the crazy cars. And just to let you know, the busses don't go any slower. We sped at a dangerously scary speed all the way to Siena and back. On the way there Julia stated "Are there such things as Driver Licenses here? Cause' I don't think there are." Nevertheless, Florence is a beautiful place full of fashionable people and fantastic (if not timely) food. Thanks for reading!
