The sand really is white and fine.
Poolside after a visit to the beach.

| Mariela reconnecting with Kris, a homeschooling mom that relocated to Montgomery from Los Angeles. They showed us a water play area in downtown Montgomery and a great BBQ restaurant. |

| This picture is out of order, but it's the beach at Destin. The wind and water was very warm, even at 8 pm at night. |

We slept in Atlanta last night, then made it to Montgomery to visit friends for lunch. We drove through Alabama on a state road. It was slow and long, but it was very pretty. At the end of it all we made it to Destin, Florida, which is a resort town. We made it to the beach right at sunset and swam in the warm Gulf waters. The sand is white and fine. Mariela and I were enchanted, but the girls were fairly bothered because they were concerned about jellyfish. We'll go back tomorrow morning to check it out again.
