Thoughts from Lily

Cupcakes, strawberries and cheese on a shiny plate.  What a wonderful sight after a 9 hour drive from NYC!

The kids didn't want to leave the hotel room, especially with the TV in the mirror in the bathroom.  Forget the Statue of Liberty and the Washington Monument, can you believe there's a TV in the bathroom mirror!!!!!

Goodbye Fancy-shmancy hotel! :
Aug 24th was the morning that we left New York City. Even at 5:00am there was still a little bit of traffic but I was asleep most of the 8 hours we were driving so that was OK with me! When we finally got to our hotel it was one of the fanciest hotels I had ever gone in! When we were in the room Lucia and Julia were screaming with delight! They had left us 5-7 really good cupcakes, the beds were amazing, and there was a TV implanted in the bathroom mirror so if you wanted to watch TV you would just grab the remote and if you turned it off you wouldn’t see it at all!!! It just looked like an ordinary mirror! But let me tell you that when Lucia and Julia found out about this I noticed that they needed to go to the bathroom a lot more often! And their showers were much, much longer! I don’t blame them; there was no reason to get out of the bathroom if you brought some snacks! I felt carsick so they went swimming to give me some quiet and because Lucia & Julia were bouncing off the walls! Indeed I was sorry to leave that hotel! Though I was kind of hoping they’d clean out the car too but it still was the same old messy car we had left there! Oh well, better luck next time when we run into a fancy hotel! I hope I come to North Carolina again so I can go to that hotel again!  (FYI we were able to stay there because my Dad’s cousin is the manager there).
